Triathlon 28th April 2012

Our Triathlon was a superb day, the effort put in by the Tri children was amazing, we had many Pb scores, and we came away with many rosettes.

  • The mini girls withheld and Polly Muirhead did fantastically.
  • The mini boys team of withheld, withheld, withheld & Finn Muirhead finished 4th as a team with withheld finishing 7th overall.
  • Jasper Pring also finished 10th Ind.
  • The Novice Junior was withheld and also her first Tri, withheld came away with a 3rd team rosette and The Eleanor Dlugosz trophy, which was presented in Eleanor's memory by her Mum.
  • The junior girls team of withheld, Charlotte Radley, Rosie Greene and Molly Watson came 4th as a team, and Rosie also won the Laura Persey Trophy, which was presented to Rosie in Memory of Laura by Heather Greenslade.

A huge thank you to all you Tri athletes who make me very proud to be your team trainer.
Ali Greene

[Webmaster's note: there are a lot of "withhelds" above because I don't have consent forms to publish the children's names. Click on any withheld link to see what you need to do to resolve this.]

PC teams Eventers challenge - 16th feb

The open team of withheld, Rupert Batting, Alexa Batting and Charlotte Hare put in excellent performances over a course of show jumps followed by xc fences against the clock. Whilst the team couldn't beat the fast ponies, their zero finishing score secured 3rd place overall, which was very pleasing indeed for the first outing of 2012.

The Junior team of withheld, Polly Muirhead, Georgina Wood and withheld had a great day out at the Polden Hills Eventers Challenge. Their excellent performance paid off and they came 6th out of 15 teams. Well done to you all. Francis Chambers also had a good day as an individual. (Does anyone have any photos of this team? If so please send them to me.)

Pony Club Area Quiz, 13th Feb

Tiverton sent two teams to the Area Quiz hosted by Polden Hills on Monday 13th February.

"Tiverton Foxes", Rupert Batting, Charlotte Radley, Lucy Clist and Henry Clist came a very close 3rd place, only half a point behind the second team.

"Tiverton Hounds", Heidi Stevens, Ellie Discombe, Rosie Heard and Becca Heard done really well but unplaced.

Well done to all who took part, the eventual winners were Devon and Somerset.

Dress and timekeeping for rallies:

Members should wear Pony Club sweatshirt with a shirt and Pony Club tie, jodhpurs (white/cream/navy/black), appropriate riding boots, gloves and the correct riding hat which has been tagged. For safety reasons, no jewellery (including sleeper earings) should be worn. Long hair should be tied back and put in a hair net. Also NO spurs unless instructors say you require them.

Please remember to arrive for your rallies in plenty of time so that you are on your pony/horse and ready to start the Rally at least 10 minutes before the Rally starts.

It is discourteous to your instructors to arrive late.

Rally/Training Booking and Cancellation:

So that we can provide you with you top quality instruction, please book your place on rallies and training sessions no later than one week before so that we can ensure we have enough instructors available.

The rallies and training sessions are very popular and are often over-subscribed. If, for whatever reason, you are not able to attend any rally or training session that you have booked a place for, please telephone the organiser and cancel your place.

By not cancelling your place, you are denying someone else a chance to attend.
